The restaurant is not much to look at from the outside, seating on the inside is limited. There are tables outside. However, the food is excellent. We had the carnitas enchiladas- very tasty! The salsa bar has several fresh salsas. Good rustic restaurant.
Maddie is one of our go-to stops when we are in Colfax. It's great to grab one of their delicious burritos and put it in your rucksack to take skiing or boarding! In our crowd, they love it because it's not so greasy like the $14 slice of pizza they sell in the lodge! It's actually good for you and it's great with the bag of chips it comes with and some salsa. The staff is also so friendly and helpful. It's all good!!
Very tasty and solid Mexican food! We came with our dog and sat outside -- they have a nice couple of tables set up in a courtyard. They had yummy menu options, a great salsa bar and complimentary chips. I'd recommend it!
I almost never write a yelp review, but I stopped at Madi's today on the way up to Tahoe and felt compelled to. First, they were the nicest people ever to let us bring our dog in from the rain while we ordered. Second, the service was quick and efficient, great for a quick stop if you can't eat in. But the most important part was the food. The Birria tacos I had today were life changing!!!! My kids loved their tacos and burritos too, and insisted we stop on the way home. HIGHLY recommend Madi's. One of the best hole in the wall Mexican foods I've ever had. Try the Birria, it will change your life!!!! Thank you ladies for a really wonderful, unexpected lunch today!
We finally got around to trying Madi's and ordered online for pick up. very convenient and the food was ready when we arrived. my wife got the chicken burrito which she really liked and would order again. I got the chicken mole and it was good but it was WAY too spicy. I'm mean I was sweating. I've had lots of mole both in the US and in Mexico and have never had any this hot before. I don't know if there was an error in the prepar or what. I sure don't order it again. overall, it was good enough to go back.
Maddie is Mexican is a good option for Mexican food. Low-key with good service. When we are in the Colfax area, we like to stop there!
Very quaint spot. My teen and I stopped in for a bite at lunch time. Very nice staff and quick service. I love the authenticity of this joint. I ordered shrimp ceviche bowl and my kid got a tostada. Over all very thing was good. There is not much seating inside but the outside has a few tables and chairs you can sit at. The restaurant has the same name as my teen so it was a nice little joke that I didn't know she had a restaurant I will definitely come back on my next travels to and from California.
This place is really good! Portions are good, food is delicious, the people are nice, very welcoming and fun to talk to. The prices are fair, especially with the Bidenomics price hikes these days! I'm a local, and always come back. If you're traveling through, definitely the BEST Mexican food in town, and not greasy
Had the shrimp burrito this time. Very good and huge! Salsa bar was wonderful as always. Service was quick and friendly. I'll be back
